Expanding Your Marketing Campaign to Grow Your Business
No business is able to grow without advertising, and no form of advertising works well without a fully thought out marketing campaign.
Every start up business will have thought through the basics – with a website, social media and advertising space, possibly branching into branding. But there is so much more that you can do, in those areas and others, that can really help to grow your business and take it to the next level.
Something every growing business should think about is how they can get involved and contribute to their community. Not only will it be great for whatever event or cause you dedicate your time to, but also it’s an excellent way to build up your reputation and spread your company name. Look into your local community, as well as your industry, and see what events are coming up that you can become involved in. It might be that you can be a sponsor, or you can donate products or services, or you can get involved with a charity run or walk and put together a team to take part.
A great way to expand your advertising, spread your brand, and gain new clients is through business conventions. Look at exhibition stands and make the most of the opportunity. Branch into conventions that aren’t directly linked to your industry and target your marketing to other audiences. Too many new businesses make the mistake of only concentrating on their primary audiences and ignore their secondary audiences. By focusing energy on some of your smaller demographics, you will be able to reach out and gain new clients.
A lot of small business start branching out into merchandise when they first get started – things like office equipment, pens and so forth. So now it’s time to think about how you can go bigger. If you own a coffee shop, for example, then look at stamping your logo on reusable take out cups, loyalty cards, and even bags of ground beans. Branding only works it you pop your logo on things people will actually use and want – so start your order small and increase the amount of merch you buy as your sales raise.
Go big or go home. Start looking at increasing your reach when it comes to advertising – think about billboards and flyers as well as online ads and TV adverts. Luckily, thanks to social media, it’s so easy to get the attention of people from across the globe. But make sure that you cater to them too. If you can ship to other countries, then make sure that you site can convert to that country’s currency. And stay relevant; if there is something going on in the world that relates to your company and product, then comment on it. If you have close relations with another company or organisation, make sure to work with them in a quid pro quo situation: you link to them and they link to you; a share for a share etc.
